Actually very fun! took a second to understand how everything worked, but after that it felt okay. I wish there was more connection to the theme of the game jam, like more kinds of rng elements, perhaps? I also found that when i got the "blank" roll it was usually when I didnt want to have it. If you were to expand on this idea perhaps an offensive as well as a defensive roll to give the player more variety in how they handle situations and more control over them as well. Overall nice job!
Art is good indeed and game design is better than your ChessU: it's less random/chaotic and you have actual control over situation, but it also has a typical problem of similar genre [at least jam] games - the strategy is very basic (go sideways=around and shoot) and it gets repetitive.
Rolling the dice doesn't feel connected, projectile randomization feels just "random" (not "diced"), the only connection is being 6 of them (which I'd never count during such a fast paced gameplay) and some visuals. I don't care about the theme too much though and it's nice to have some variety.
Ideally, you'd want the player to account for the projectiles player currently has, but at the moment it's not worth it comparing to only focusing on the arena and prevision shooting snails (and I don't know how to fix it).
